El Cruce Hospital has automated each of its processes and seeks to be a pioneer in the use of AI

The Hospital de Alta Complejidad en Red “El Cruce” Dr. Néstor Carlos Kirchner has computerised each of its processes. This was stated by Mauro Vega, Head of Systems / CIO of the HEC in dialogue with Telemedicina-Salud en línea and explained that, due to the speciality of the hospital, “we have the latest medical equipment, such as CT scanners or PET scans that are not even found in private health centres in the area; and the entire process is computerised exactly to meet the times needed in a highly complex environment”.

Regarding Artificial Intelligence (AI), the use of computer systems that allow processing and analysing large amounts of information with similar human cognitive functions, applied in different medical areas for research on diseases, Vega said that “it is the future without any doubt and can be applied in any field”. He added: “In our laboratories there is already software that uses AI to process data more efficiently and interpret it, and we are undoubtedly on that path, trying to be technological pioneers at all times.
